There is a ton of great new stuff in 3.2 that I’m still digesting and acquiring, but one thing that didn’t take too much for me to get my hands on is the new Uraeus Coat. I knew I wanted to use it for either my healers or my Black Mage, and after trying it out with the Goetia Gloves and Thighboots, I decided to make it work for healers. That ended up being a little trickier than I imagined it would be, as healer boot options are somewhat limited (and the pair I want to use, the Expeditioner’s Thighboots, are out of my grasp for at least a little while). But I was able to get a workable look going:
Glamour Components
Head: Elegant Rimless Glasses (Soot Black Dye) | Body: Uraeus Coat (Pure White Dye) Hands: Claws of the Beast (Jet Black Dye) | Legs: Bridesmaid’s Tights (Jet Black Dye)
Feet: Kirimu Boots of Healing (Jet Black Dye)
My favorite thing about this version of the Coat is that the main secondary color, the sharp black, sticks around when you dye it. The sides of the coat turn grey if you dye the Kirimu Coat Pure White, which looks nice, but I generally like the contrast between black and white much better. The Kirimu Boots were used mainly to get a pair that had the same contrast, and from there it was a matter of deciding which legs to use. I actually wanted a skirt of some kind, but none of the ones I could think of really clicked for me, so the Bridesmaid’s Tights, while a bit plain, ended up satisfying me best.
This glamour may not survive too long, though, as there are two things on the horizon that will likely get me to revisit it: the aforementioned Expeditioner’s Thighboots and the Replica High Allagan Pantaloons of Healing. I’ve wanted the model for the latter for ages, but I’ve always hated Turn 9. The fact that the new version is dyable is a massive plus (I’m guessing they’ll look quite stylish in Jet Black). Chances are, once I have some more Job Specific gear for White Mage, I’ll end up doing one glamour for that with the Pantaloons, and another for Scholar and Astrologian that uses the Thighboots, but we’ll see!
I’m eagerly getting a sense for all the new gear and there are a ton of things I want to collect to experiment with, so I’ll likely be posting a lot of new glamours over the next few weeks. This isn’t the only one that’s changed so far, just one day into the patch, and I’m sure by next week I’ll have done at least one more, depending on what I can get my hands on.
I love new patches!
