There was a period in ARR where I used Metallic Silver Dye for pretty much all of my glamours.
Those are just a few examples I found paging through my screenshot collection. Around the same time, my Monk glamour was also Metallic Silver, as was my healer glamour, which covered all of the roles. I haven’t relied on that dye as much in Heavensward, though my tanks did use it for awhile in a glamour I kept for less than a week.
It looks like I’m moving back toward a preference toward silver, as opposed to white, though. My current Paladin glamour is silver even if it doesn’t rely on the dye. My latest Ninja glamour uses the dye for every single piece, and as of last night, my healer glamour is also using Metallic Silver again, after a handful of T9 runs to get some necessary materials.
Head: Shaded Spectacles (Metallic Silver Dye) | Body: Replica High Allagan Coat of Healing (Metallic Silver Dye) | Hands: Replica Allagan Gloves of Healing (Jet Black Dye) | Legs: Light Steel Subligar (Jet Black Dye) | Feet: Expeditioner’s Thighboots (Jet Black Dye)
I’ve wanted the High Allagan Coat for a long time, of course. My raid group didn’t end up doing progression last night due to a missing member, and after awhile, several of us ended up in a Turn 9 farm. I got pretty lucky on rolls and walked away with enough High Allagan Aetherstones to easily craft the body. I had already decided I wanted to use the Expeditioner’s Thighboots, in black, for my healer glamour, and Metallic Silver gave the coat some more black than it normally has, without making it the dominant color, so the dye choice was natural. I went with the Allagan Gloves of Healing, rather than the High Allagan ones, because I’ve always liked the rings on the fingers of the former?
Why the sunglasses? Well…
You try reading a book that glows like the sun without a little eye protection! I keep the glasses toggled off for White Mage and Astrologian, though.
Having finally acquired the High Allagan Coat, that checks off every item for my Patch 3.2 glamour bucket list, and I actually have no clue what I might be posting about in the days to come. But I’ll cross that bridge after the weekend! See you guys again soon!
