Lately, it seems I spend a larger chunk of my playtime than I normally do working on glamours. After I (thought I) finished my Ninja glamour at the end of last week, I devoted most of my weekend to fiddling with a look for my Scholar, with the intent of using the Savant’s Culottes or Replica High Allagan Pantaloons in some way. I started messing around with stuff for Bard and Machinist, too, toward the end of last week. And last night, after seeing the one hundredth person in the Wind Silk Coatee since I settled on it last week, I resolved to do something new for Ninja, too.
And today, I’m (not) happy to report that I’ve gotten absolutely nowhere! As such, I’ve gone to fallback glamours for all three of these until I can figure out something for each one. For Scholar, I’ve gone back to a recent look:
I showcased this one not too long ago, so if you’re interested in the individual pieces, you can check them out here. Since all three of my healers are currently wearing the same gear, this one applies to all of them. I do have some idea of where I want to go from here, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it. The best look I could get centered around the Savant’s Culottes also involved the Wind Silk Coatee, and given how common it seems to be on my server, I don’t think I want to use it. Like the original Scholar’s and Argute Culottes, though, the Savant’s Culottes are really hard to work with, so it may be awhile before I’m able to get something satisfying put together.
For Ninja, I went back to a much older look, from toward the end of ARR:
I’ve talked about most of this look not too long ago. All of the pieces here I talk about in this post. The only difference is that I’m using the Direwolf Shirt of Striking instead of the Cashmere one, since the purple on it is a better fit for the Hyperconductive Kannagi. I really have no clue what to do with Ninja, though. I had actually grown pretty fond of the look I finished up last week, and I have a feeling it’s going to dominate my thought processes for a little while.
For Bard and Machinist (but mostly Machinist), I sort of what to do something “tech-ish,” which probably means using at least some bits of the Augmented Ironworks Aiming gear, but in what capacity, I’m really not sure (and given how difficult it can be to find things that match the bloody stuff, that might be a dead end, anyway). But until I get some idea, I went back to the standby of standbys for Bards everywhere:
Most of the bits here are more than likely self-explanatory, but just in case: Kirimu Coat (Metallic Silver), Bogatyr’s Gloves of Aiming, Light Steel Subligar (Metallic Silver), Bogatyr’s Thighboots of Aiming. I’ve spent more time wearing the Kirimu Coat on Bard (and Machinist) than I care to admit, and it’s almost always with the same pieces (though I used the Augmented Ironworks Vambraces for awhile, too). About the only thing that really changes is the color of the coat, which is normally Pure White, Jet Black, or Metallic Silver, with the Light Steel Subligar dyed to match.
It’s the day before the weekly reset, and I’ve got very little left to do (aside from some normal Midas), so I’m sure I’ll end up messing around with some of these during the day. With luck, I’ll have something new to share on Wednesday—here’s to hoping inspiration strikes!
