I’m incredibly late to this party, but over the weekend I finally picked up the Fieldkeep’s Shirt, my first piece of left-side gear for Botanist. I’ve been gathering quite often as part of the effort to get the gil needed to finish off my crafting accessory melds, which also means I haven’t been quite as lazy about Red Scrips as I usually am.
Since I like the look of the new piece, I figured I’d go ahead and make a look for it. I’m not really sure why this is, but I have to spend very little time on glamours for Disciples of the Land, and this one was no exception.
Glamour Components
Head: (none) | Body: Fieldkeep’s Shirt (Pure White Dye) | Hands: Thavnairian Gloves (Mesa Red Dye) | Legs: Gryphonskin Pantalettes (Slate Brown Dye) | Feet: Serpentskin Fringe Boots (Pure White Dye)
Nothing about this one proved all that tricky. I had been missing the Fringe Boots, so I removed the glamour on them (Expeditioner’s Thighboots) when I got the shirt. Once that was one, I thought the Gryphonskin Pantalettes looked better than the Expeditioner’s ones, too. They were Pure White originally, too, but I preferred some additional brown to go with the sash on the body piece. The gloves did take a little experimentation—at first I wanted to cover up the wristband from the shirt itself, but I ended up rather liking the way the Thavnarian Gloves looked with it. I’ve never actually used them before, so that it was cool to find a use them.
I did want to find a head piece for this look, and I eventually gave up. I was going to go with either the Forager’s Hat or the Velveteen Bandanna, but I couldn’t figure out a color that looked right with the rest of the pieces. Head pieces are great, though, because you can always just turn them off, so I didn’t fret about it too much.
Really, the only issue I’ve got here is that my Fisher now looks all mismatched due to sharing most of its gear with Botanist right now:
But that’s not a huge problem, either, since I pretty much never use Fisher for anything. I love leveling it; however, actually targeting specific things for recipes or Scrips is just frustrating due to the over-reliance on the random number generator. I did the same thing with Fisher at 50, and I’ll probably do the same thing at 70 (or whatever the new level cap in 4.0 is).
Once I have more of the Fieldkeep’s set, I may go back and get something sorted out for Fisher, too, but it’s pretty low priority.
We’re a week from 3.3! Of course, this glamour may very well be moot at that point, since we’re getting the new, higher item level gear (and I play to use it since I like the Ironworks style). But I’ve got a lot of gathering to do this last week, anyway, so I might as well be happy with how I look!
