Glamour Spotlight: Monk #4

Luckily, I happened to check the Lodestone this morning to find out about the emergency maintenance for NA Worlds today, which meant I had enough time to decide on a topic for today and also take the accompanying screenshots. I normally start working on my posts about the time the maintenance started today, so if I hadn’t, I would have had a bit of trouble!

Originally, I was going to do a Faves post talking about the Augmented Temple Cyclas—it just happened to catch my eye when I was browsing through my Strength gear Retainer. Toward the end of ARR, when I picked up Monk again in order to complete the Sphairai Nexus, I fell in love with it in Pure White, and it was the basis of my glamour for until I started leveling Monk in Heavensward and playing around with newer gear.

Once I started wandering around wearing it, thinking about what to pair with it for screenshots and the like, though, I actually decided to modify my glamour entirely instead, so here we are:

Glamour Components
Head: Gryphonskin Eyepatch (Jet Black Dye) | Body: Augmented Temple Cyclas (Pure White Dye) | Hands: Replica Allagan Gauntlets of Striking (Jet Black Dye) | Legs: Warwolf Kecks of Striking (Jet Black Dye) | Feet: Kirimu Sandals of Striking (Jet Black Dye)

Most of the pieces here have long been Monk and Ninja staples for me, of course. Kecks are some of the only pants I’ve found in the game that I like in combination with the Kirimu Sandals, and the Warwolf ones in particular are the only ones that dye the way they do (with the “chaps” part staying black). The Gryphonskin Eyepatch works really well here, too, since the white strap on it actually matches the black/white colors on everything else.

Honestly, I wish Ninja had a body that would work in place of the Cyclas when dyed Pure White, too, as I’ve been pretty fond of the combination for some time. The Iga Ningi just doesn’t quite do the trick, and I’m not generally fond of the muscle plating on the Ninja Chainmail, as I’ve discussed before.

It was a total pain to get a usable screenshot out of the Monk /battlestance, by the way. I took at least twenty, and if it weren’t for the looming maintenance I probably would have taken far more than that!

But, speaking of the maintenance, I’m going to use the time to pay a bit of attention to my very neglected PS4. Whether I’ll end up playing something in my backlog or getting lost in Fallout 4 again is anyone’s guess, though.
