Glamour Spotlight: Scouting DPS #8 (All Saints’ Wake 2016)

So like I said last time, I’ve been fiddling around with Halloween-themed glamours for All Saints’ Wake this year. The year we got the Witch’s stuff, I ran around in it on Scholar for most of the event and honestly had a lot of fun, so I thought I’d go the extra mile this year and do that for at least my main jobs. This is an opportunity to run around in stuff I wouldn’t normally wear, too, which is always kind of fun. My only rule is that I have to use either a body piece from an All Saints’ Wake set or at least two of the non-body pieces.

Of course, I started with Ninja, which is where I’d gotten the idea from in the first place. Originally, I’d had the idea to run around in the Bunny Chief Bustier and the Miqo’te Loincloth, accompanied by the Witch’s Gloves and Thighboots, and I did, for about one dungeon. It was a little too much, though—even though I love the look, it’s just too over the top, and I couldn’t stick with it. It’s possible I could end up using it for another one (I’m kind of doing these one at a time), but for Ninja, I knew it wasn’t going to work.

I still wanted to use the gloves and boots, though, as I couldn’t really see Ninja fitting well with the other All Saints’ stuff we’ve gotten, since they’ve all got a pretty “non-melee” feel to them (except for, to a certain degree, the new Vampire’s Vest, which I’ve just gotten and need to figure out how I’m going to use—but it won’t be for Ninja as the cape looks silly with the katanas-drawn running animation >.>).

Glamour Components
Head: Dried Orange Viola | Body: Best Man’s Jacket (Sunset Orange Dye) | Hands: Witch’s Gloves (Jet Black Dye) | Legs: Lady’s Knickers (Black)Feet: Witch’s Thighboots (Jet Black Dye) | Ears: Pumpkin Earrings

The gloves lend themselves quite naturally to an orange and black color scheme which is, at the least festive. I’ve always liked the Best Man’s Jacket on Ninja (for something of a high class assassin vibe), and it looks good alongside the gloves especially. If I were to be honest, the curved toes on the boots aren’t my favorite thing in the world, but they’re sort of necessary to make the whole thing work anytime you use the Witch’s Gloves, I feel.

Though I’m using the Heavy Metal Daggers at the moment, the Spurs of the Thorn Prince have a bit of a sinister vibe going, and so I glamoured them (in the same Sunset Orange Dye). It’s actually incredibly funny to me that the Pumpkin Orange Dye doesn’t match the ribbon on the Witch’s stuff all that well, for what it’s worth.

The nuts and bolts of this one could honestly work for a non-holiday glamour, in different colors (though the gloves and boots would probably need to change since they have that orange ribbon), so in a sense, this will likely not end up being my favorite of the glamours in the series. There are things I have in mind for other pieces, like the new Vest or the Witch’s Coatee that I think will end up being more “fun.”

On a personal note (which I won’t go into detail on), there’s some important family matters going on over the next week or two, so posts may be a little shorter for a bit (and may not always adhere to schedule, but I’m trying to keep that up because the routine is a good thing for me). I apologize for any little things that might be missing (like links and such), and for the fact that sharing is going to need to be handled automatically for a little while (which doesn’t display all that well on Twitter or Facebook). This first post is actually longer than I thought I was going to be able to do, but I may not be able to keep that up, so I thought I would just put that out there.

Happy All Saints’ Wake, everybody, and soon enough, Halloween!
