Little Tweaks: Healers & Tanks

Today’s post is going to be a bit of a quick one, since various things are making it hard to devote a lot of time here. I don’t have anything major to report on the glamour front, but I have changed a few things with my most recent healer and tank looks. Both of them had been put together perhaps without as much attention as I normally go for. I definitely wasn’t feeling excited to play either of them with those glamours, but I did like some elements of them.

For tank, I think my biggest issue was just color. Everything matched pretty well, and I liked the overall style, but the color scheme just wasn’t sitting well with me. Since some of my favorite tank weapons have blue elements, I went with Royal Blue instead so I could glamour those. That meant moving to something other than the Storm Elite’s Skirt (even if the red isn’t extremely visible, it’s still there). I was going to use the Augmented Gallant Cuisses, but I didn’t want my Dark Knight stuck with the Hemiskin Brais of Fending, which wouldn’t look so great. Instead, I went with the Lady’s Knickers to double down on a lightly armored look. I also changed the gauntlets—the Replica High Allagan ones just seemed to gel better.

As much as I like the High Allagan Pantaloons, I just wasn’t enjoying running around in them this time. I basically just missed my boots, so I went back to the Scion Healer’s Highboots (these have been renamed, by the way—they aren’t erroneously called Halfboots anymore!). From there, that meant shorts or a skirt, given my normal preferences. I wanted to use the Miqo’te Loincloth, but it was too much red in the default color scheme, and the grey tights sticking out of the back of the boots bugged me when it was dyed Jet Black. So, just as with tank, I went with the Lady’s Knickers. I also swapped over to the Elegant Rimless Glasses again just because they seemed  a better fit without the Pantaloons, for whatever reason.

The Holy Rainbow Shirt and Knickers combo is really one of my favorite “standard” looks at this point. It shows up (with the Shirt of the Divine Light) in one of the very first posts here on Fashion Ninjutsu. I’ve used the pairing at other times too, prior to starting the blog (while leveling casters and ranged DPS, for instance), and it’s the sort of look that can be adopted to a variety of classes and roles, I think. If I really wanted to, I could probably use the basic combo on everything (with a different color on each for kicks or something).

But, that would get a little boring, don’t you think?

Anyway, I hope to be back with a more formal, less rambling post on Friday.
