I don’t have a new tank glamour just yet, but I do have an idea for something that might work. The trouble is that I need to farm up a couple of pieces first. I’m going to be working on that today, but one thing I did do over the weekend was make some modifications to my Crafting and Gathering glamours. These aren’t looks I change very often, of course, and that’s been the case even moreso since I really like the overall look of Ironworks gear that got added ages ago. I recently noticed, though, that the lower item level Carbonweave stuff actually dyes in a way that I prefer to the Ironworks pattern, and that made me want to tweak things.
Glamour Components
Head: Forager’s Hat (Jet Black) | Body: Carbonweave Vest of Gathering (Jet Black) | Hands: Carbonweave Gloves of Gathering (Jet Black) | Legs: Valentione Skirt (Pure White) | Feet: Expeditioner’s Thighboots (Jet Black)
Most of the models for this glamour are the same as my last one for Gatherers, but the fact that the Carbonweave stuff maintains the white portions when dyed creates a much better look for my tastes. With the Ironworks gear, you end up with the standard blue leather accents if you leave it alone, which turn grey if you go with Pure White, in that ever frustrating shade. With the Carbonweave stuff in Jet Black, you lose the blue accents and get to keep the white, though, resulting in my favorite overall color balance for Alahra.
Of course, without the Dalamud Red from the previous glamour, that meant the Scion Healer’s Highboots were a little out of place, so a shift to the Expeditioner’s Thighboots was in order. I considered going Pure White for the Forager’s Hat, for a nod to the classic Smooth Criminal fedora, but that ended up being too much white given that Alahra’s hair is white. (And yeah, I stopped writing for 10 minutes to watch the video…)
I’m fiddling with a similar update to my Crafting glamour, which was in the same red color scheme (and that I apparently never actually gave a Spotlight on here—I guess I forgot!). I’m using the Carbonweave Apron of Crafting, naturally, but I suppose the current look just isn’t quite…there yet. I should probably show it off at some point soon, though, since I never showed it off at all! That may happen later this week, depending on how this new tank glamour experiment goes…
