Glamour Spotlight: Casters #20

Ever since we started getting rumblings about jump potions, I had been planning to get one for my second alternate character. She’s not a character I play actively for gameplay, but she comes in handy for role-playing purposes from time to time. She’s been level 1 for a very long time, which meant she had very few options for attire and no direct access dyes. I’d gotten around that to some degree by crafting level 1 glamour items, dyeing them, and having them sent to her, but the look I truly wanted required being level 60. That wasn’t going to be a feasible thing given just how long it takes to get a character to 60 from scratch when I had a lot of other things I wanted to do. I had never even gotten around to getting my primary alternate to 60 before the expansion, let alone a whole third character!

But, with things having settled down with Stormblood progress, I took the time this weekend to get Ahrane to level 60 with the new jump potions, so that I could finally put together the glamour I’ve wanted for her forever.

Glamour Components (Required Level: BLM/RDM/SMN 60)
Head: Star Velvet Hood of Casting (Jet Black) | Body: Eastern Lady’s Togi (Jet Black)
Hands: Star Velvet Long Gloves of Casting (Jet Black) | Legs: Star Velvet Bottoms of Casting (Jet Black) | Feet: High House Halfboots

I’ve loved the Star Velvet Hood for a long time, especially the casting version of it, which has the eye cover on one side that the healing Hood lacks. It’s never felt like an appropriate look for Alahra, who is cosmopolitan in many respects, but for Ahrane, who is mysterious and decidedly tribal, it’s perfect. The rest of the elements are all definitely favorites of mine, of course, and all of them have featured in multiple glamours.

I’ve also never felt like the Eastern Lady’s Togi quite fit Alahra, probably because of her shorter height—it looks much better on Ahrane (who I believe is at the maximum height for female miqo’te). I’m quite glad to have gotten a chance to use it, and more permanently so, too, since it’s unlikely I will spend any time leveling Ahrane until late in Stormblood if at all, since there’s going to be plenty to do on my main for a good long time.
