Much like I did last year, I’m using All Saints’ Wake as an excuse to do some fun glamours in the spirit of the season. I haven’t actually gotten through the whole event quest chain yet, but I did get take the time to grab the new Werewolf Attire, after which distractions happened (no, I’m not addicted to Hearthstone, why do you ask?). I’m impressed by how usable the outfit is this year. In years past, All Saints’ Wake rewards have often been a little too thematic, with pumpkins and bats and the like limiting the glamour applications of the gear outside of the season itself (which isn’t necessarily bad, but some of the pieces are really nice and it’d be great to be able to use them more generally).
That’s not the case with this year’s reward, at least for the main pieces. While the Arms, Legs, and Head are definitely not general use items, the Body and Tail (which strangely, doesn’t include the tail—that’s on the Body) actually look pretty good outside of their thematic constraints. The “Tail” in particular is more or less a dyeable mini-skirt for females, which is great (and expect it to show up in some other glamours in the future because of that!). Despite the tail on the Werewolf Body, I’ve already gotten kind of attached to the piece’s general style.
Anyway, here’s my Ninja glamour for this year’s All Saints’ Wake!
Glamour Components (Required Level: NIN 60)
Head: Scion Rogue Bandana
Body: Werewolf Body (Jet Black)
Hands: Augmented Shire Emissary’s Gloves (Jet Black)
Legs: Werewolf Tail (Jet Black)
Feet: Augmented Shire Emissary’s Thighboots (Jet Black)
As I’m not general a huge fan of miqo’te twig arms, I wanted a pair of longer gloves to go with the Werewolf Body here. Ninja doesn’t have a lot of plain options in that regard, but the Shire Emissary’s Gloves work pretty well (and I was already wearing them from my last glamour, so I saw how they worked right away). From there, I needed a pair of boots to go with them, and I’d normally roll with the Scion Healer’s Highboots (but you knew that already, didn’t you?), but with the rest of the outfit being entirely black, I didn’t like the red soles.
Oddly enough, I’ve never used the Shire Emissary’s Thighboots. They’ve always seemed a bit wrong for Alahra in preview windows, and back when I got them during Heavensward, I think I glamoured over them immediately since I was already using Y’shtola’s boots with my glamour at the time. I’ve realized now that was probably a mistake! They don’t look so great in the preview window, but especially while running around, I’m finding that I quite like them. That’s great, actually, since I’m always on the lookout for new Thighboots to add to my repertoire.
With everything else in place (and in Jet Black), I couldn’t really pull myself away from the Scion Rogue Bandana. I’m really happy with the overall look, so much so that I probably won’t work out a new glamour with the Augmented Lost Allagan Jacket (which I’ll have soon) until after All Saints’ Wake is over!
