I’ve only managed to pick up two pieces of Skallic gear that I want to use so far, one being the Skallic Bottoms of Striking (which I’ve used once), and the other being the Skallic Bottoms of Healing, which I got not too long ago. I’ve been thinking about using the Healing ones recently, so I’ve been trying out various things to make them work. They’ve proven a bit difficult to use, though—I’ve yet to find a body piece that I really like alongside them, which suggests I’m going to have to also get the Skallic Jacket of Healing to get any mileage out of them.
The closest I got to using them for the time being was by combining them with the Leonhart Jacket, with both pieces in Pure White. I might come back to that if I can figure out a good pair of gloves and boots to use, but I haven’t figured anything out yet. One thing I did notice, though, while experimenting, was that the Gazelleskin Bracers of Healing looked very nice with Squall’s jacket. On a whim, I decided to put together a look with that in mind, one that isn’t necessarily Alahra’s style but that I’m rather fond of anyway.
Glamour Components (Required Level: AST/SCH/WHM 68)
Weapon: Elements (Jet Black)
Head: Reading Glasses (Jet Black)
Body: Leonhart Jacket (Jet Black)
Hands: Gazelleskin Bracers of Healing (Jet Black)
Legs: Cashmere Skirt of Healing (Jet Black)
Feet: Expeditioner’s Thighboots (Jet Black)
Everything came together really quickly with this one—I didn’t realize it until I had everything picked out that three of the five pieces were already glamoured to Alahra’s gear from the last healer one I put together. The difference in colors and the different style of the Jacket ends up creating a pretty distinct look, though. I probably could have gone a few different directions, though. The Makai Moon Guide’s Quartertights work fairly well with the Jacket, for instance (and I used the ones for Machinist when I first got the Leonhart Attire), but the Skirt overall felt better for a healing look, so I didn’t agonize too much about other options.
I’m also curious to see how a similar look might work for Lynahra’s tank if I ever get her Warrior to 68. The Fending version of the Bracers have silver buckles instead of gold ones, which are ever so slightly more appropriate for the Leonhart Jacket, which doesn’t have any gold. Of course, that look will need something different for the Legs slot, since there’s no equivalent of the Cashmere Skirt for tanks. It’s probably workable, though, with the only real issue being that it’s highly unlikely that I’ll get Lynahra’s Warrior off the ground anytime soon!
In general I think the Leonhart Jacket is a much better fit for Lynahra than Alahra, so I likely won’t keep this glamour for Alahra for an especially long time. But it was fun to put together and I do really like it, so I thought it was worth highlighting anyway! I’ve still got my eye on the Skallic Bottoms of Healing, of course, and all things being equal I’d like to figure something out with them before too long. I’ve also got a healing idea for the Scion Liberator’s Jacket (but that doesn’t come as a surprise, does it?), but I’m not sure I’ll get around to putting that together since I’ve probably done enough with Lyse’s gear for the time being!
