Ever since I put together my first attempt at a glamour with the YorHA body for Ninja from the Copied Factory, I’ve been running the raid far more than I normally would to pick up the YorHA leg piece to go with the top. I’ve been after a solid pair of dyeable shorts for Ninja for a long time, since the class rarely finds itself on any of the best ones. My drive to nab them only increased after I picked up 2B’s boots, with my goal being a proper NieR glamour for Alahra until (probably) 5.2. It took more runs than I can bother to count, but on my first run of this week’s lockout, they finally dropped, and after a nail-biting wait to see if the other Ninja was going to roll, I won the lot.

And once I had them, I realized I didn’t like them at all.

I’m very particular about making sure the fabrics in my glamours blend well together, and much to my surprise, the YorHA Type-51 Halfslops for Ninja clash with the corresponding Jacket in a strange manner. I’m not sure exactly why that is, but after experimenting with black dyes and the default color schemes on the two pieces, I couldn’t find a combination that looked right to my eyes. After all that work to obtain them, I was quite disappointed (but I took solace in the fact that they were still a solid upgrade, since I’d been putting off gearing Ninja until the recent redesign).

But, I was still quite certain I wanted to use the boots, and in fact I’d been using them for much of my farming time, since I got them long before I picked up the Halfslops. I had never intended for the look I settled on to be anything more than an in-between, though, giving that it was far more revealing than my normal glamour choices. Over the course of all those runs, though, the look started to grow on me—most of all because of the emphasis it gave to the tall boots.

I did experiment with other leg pieces to replace the Type B Leggings, but it was hard to give up the stockings, and few of my staples really fit the fabric of the top (much like the YorHA Halfslops). The rest of the choices I kept from my original glamour (which I linked up near the top), and I think it’s likely that this one survives until we get another major gear update in 5.2. After that point it might need to go on the shelf, since if I go back to maining Ninja I’m going to need something a little more fitting for a Scion of the Seventh Dawn!

I probably won’t make that final decision until we’re closer to 5.2, though, and it might depend entirely on which of Dark Knight and Ninja has the nicer Tomestone set for glamour. Hopefully in 5.2 we’ll have some sense of when we’re going to see dyeable Artifact sets, too, which could push me more toward Ninja since I’m quite the fan of their set this expansion. Until then, though, I’m pretty happy with this one despite my initial misgivings toward it.

As a final aside, I’m planning to take a little time off for the upcoming holiday, so I’m not quite sure when my next post will be. It’ll depend a lot on what plans look like over the next week, but I won’t be gone too long either way!
