Glamour Spotlight: Gunbreaker #2

Alongside my very lazy picking at other jobs to level, I’ve made a lot of progress toward getting my alt Lynahra through the Shadowbringers Main Scenario. While getting through the previous expansion packs with her felt like a chore more than anything else, I’ve been pretty keen on finishing Shadowbringers, both to experience the story once again and to outfit Lynahra in the new Gunbreaker Artifact set. Ever since we crested the halfway point, I’ve been chomping at the bit to finish, and I dragged my partner along through much of the weekend to work on the story instead of sticking to Sunday as we normally would.

We didn’t quite finish, with the final Amaurot section of the story still to come, but we did manage to collect our Artifact Armor Sunday evening. That seemed a solid break point (and was my goal personally, anyway!), giving me enough time to sort out Lynahra’s new look before we dive back into the best part of the story. All I really knew was that I wanted to use the coat and that I’d probably stick to Lynahra’s Pagos Bandana, since she still looks strange to me without it these days.

Glamour Components (Requirements: GNB 80, Female)
Weapon: Weathered Lion Heart
Head: Pagos Bandana (Soot Black)
Body: Weathered Bodyguard’s Coat
Hands: Weathered Bodyguard’s Fingerless Gloves
Legs: Guardian Corps Skirt
Feet: Weathered Bodyguard’s Thighboots

As it turns out, I ended up liking so much of of the set that I could have very easily kept everything but the monocle (which looked ridiculous on Lynahra). I’m even a fan of the trousers in this case, and I might have to put together another look with those at some point or another. For now, though, I mainly wanted to use the coat, and so started looking for things to go along with it. The bandana was the first and easiest choice I made, of course. While I looked for a solid blue to go along with the coat, none of them really fit, so I settled on Soot Black (a departure from my normal Jet Black, since it fit the rest of the set a little better).

To replace the trousers, I went with another of Lynahra’s staples in the Guardian Corps Skirt. Any number of things might have worked (and I could have kept the trousers, even), but like the bandana this skirt is just one of those pieces that seems to fit her. It’s neutral enough to work well in this case, and I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for combining it with blue, too. Once I put it on, I didn’t even think about other options until I sat down to write—and those will have to come some other time!

When it came to boots and gloves, I ultimately decided to keep both. I’m rather fond of the gloves in particular, and I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to use in place of them. Though I looked around for some different options for boots, nothing had quite the right blend of leather and chunkiness like the Bodyguard’s Thighboots, so I stuck with those, too. Lynahra should be good with this up until we get access to dyeable versions of the Artifact Armor. I’d much prefer to have a different shade of blue for the coat (one that I can match to her bandana!), but I think everything else should be good. I’m really excited to finish off the story a second time, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up doing that sometime this week.
