As we get closer the launch of Patch 5.2, with the second Live Letter on the horizon, I’ve started waffling ever so slightly on what my main job will be once the patch drops for this tier. While I’ve been massively enjoying Dark Knight, both for its resonance with the expansion itself and the overhauled tank gameplay in Shadowbringers, I’ve been coming back to Ninja recently as I work on gearing it up. While I’m surely going to gear both classes this tier, I’m probably going to be deciding which to gear first partially on what the new Tomestone gear looks like.
With that in mind, I wanted to move Ninja back toward a black glamour, something more befitting the Warrior of Darkness, just in case I decided to use it for the Main Scenario this time around. I generally liked the overall profile of my most recent Ninja look, so I didn’t want to stray too far from that, but I also wanted to try for at least a little more color. Thankfully, the Fireglass vest offers some color in its default scheme, which served as a bit of a starting point.

Hands: Molybdenum Armguards of Scouting (Jet Black)

Most of the pieces remained the same between the previous glamour and this new one, but moving to black as a base did open up some new options. In particular, black let me use the Molybdenum Armguards again (which I’ve also used alongside the Fireglass vest for Dragoon recently), one of the only good pieces of long arm-wear for Ninja. Because of their dyeing pattern, they don’t much work in other colors (at least when it comes to the Scouting version), but they’re great in black with a number of other Ninja glamour options, including the vest.
Using the vest in its native color scheme also added that much-needed splash of color Alahra’s glamours had been lacking for much of Patch 5.1. While I didn’t have a ton to play with in terms of dye, I went back to Metallic Red for her glasses (much as I did for a Fireglass tank glamour some time ago) for starters. Then I realized that the Kasasagi Eureka, which I’d never really been able to satisfyingly glamour around, actually worked pretty well alongside the vest’s magenta and the matching glasses.
That proved to be the final thing I needed to be satisfied with this as Alahra’s present canon attire for Ninja. I’ve always viewed the various relic quests as canonical for her, the main bit of adventuring she does outside of the Main Scenario, so for the time being, it would make the most sense for her to be using Kasasagi as her weapon of choice (and this is part of why I’ve been working to finish the Dark Knight Eureka weapon, too). I probably won’t be sure which job I’ll be using as my main come 5.2 until day one of the Patch, but this way I am at least prepared for either possibility!
